Tidal Deformability of Neutron Stars in Unimodular Gravity

چکیده
Unimodular gravity is a modified theory with respect to general relativity by an extra condition that the determinant of metric fixed. Especially, if energy-momentum tensor not imposed be conserved separately, new geometric structure will appear potential observational signatures. In this paper, we study tidal deformability compact star in unimodular under assumption non-conserved tensor. Both electric-type and magnetic-type quadrupole Love numbers are calculated for neutron stars using polytrope model. It found monotonically increasing, but ones decreasing, increase non-conservation parameter. Compared data from detected gravitational-wave events, small negative parameter favored.

Relativistic tidal properties of neutron stars
We study the various linear responses of neutron stars to external relativistic tidal fields. We focus on three different tidal responses, associated to three different tidal coefficients: (i) a gravito-electrictype coefficient Gμl = [length] 2l+1 measuring the l-order mass multipolar moment GMa1...al induced in a star by an external l-order gravito-electric tidal field Ga1...al ; (ii) a gravit...
متن کاملTidal Love numbers of neutron stars
For a variety of fully relativistic polytropic neutron star models we calculate the star’s tidal Love number k2. Most realistic equations of state for neutron stars can be approximated as a polytrope with an effective index n ≈ 0.5 − 1.0. The equilibrium stellar model is obtained by numerical integration of the Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkhov equations. We calculate the linear l = 2 static perturbat...

متن کاملSurface gravity of neutron stars and strange stars
The upper bound on the value of the surface gravity, gs, for neutron stars with equations of state respecting vsound ≤ c, is derived. This bound is inversely proportional to the maximum allowable mass Mmax, and it reads gs ≤ 1.411× 10 15 (Mmax/M⊙) −1 cm s. It implies an absolute upper bound 7.4× 10 cm s if one uses the 2σ lower bound on the neutron mass measured recently in 4U1700-37, 1.9M⊙. A ...
متن کاملResonant Tidal Excitations of Rotating Neutron Stars in Coalescing Binaries
In a coalescing neutron star-neutron star or neutron star-black hole binary, oscillation modes of the neutron star can be resonantly excited by the companion during the final minutes of the binary inspiral, when the orbital frequency sweeps up from a few Hertz to a few thousand Hertz. The resulting resonant energy transfer between the orbit and the neutron star speeds up or slows down the inspi...
